A "dead" dog brought into a northwestern Pennsylvania animal shelter is expected to make a full recovery after workers realized she was actually still alive. The ANNA Shelter in Erie says they were about to close for the night on Monday when they got a call from a man who said there was a dead dog in his driveway.

The Blackfoot Animal Shelter has reached its capacity on dogs, and they are asking the community to help find homes for all of them.

Monday night marked the first rescue of 2025 for the ANNA Shelter with a call coming in of a reportedly deceased dog found in a driveway. The director and founder of the shelter Ruth Thompson said the dog was brought in after the caller asked for advice on what to do with the dog.
