North Myrtle Beach city leaders voted 5-2 on Tuesday to cut ties with longtime City Manager Mike Mahaney, agreeing to a severance package of nearly $320,000. Council members Nicole Fontana and Fred Coyne voted against the deal during the special city council meeting.

North Myrtle Beach’s City Manager Mike Mahaney was placed on administrative leave last month. His public hearing about it was set.

During a special meeting on Tuesday afternoon, North Myrtle Beach’s city council and mayor voted on a resolution to accept former city manager Mike Mahaney’s letter of resignation. Mahaney was not in attendance at Tuesday’s meeting.
