The Seattle Kraken have placed goaltender Philipp Grubauer, one of the team's highest earners, on waivers with the purpose of being assigned to the AHL, the team announced Wednesday.

SEATTLE -- Philipp Grubauer was placed on waivers by the Seattle Kraken Wednesday, with the intent of assigning the goalie to Coachella Valley of the American Hockey League.

The Seattle Kraken goalie cleared waivers on Thursday and is expected to be assigned to the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported.
