San Francisco 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel attempted to play through an illness during Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He left the game early, and Kyle Shanahan told reporters after the game that Samuel exited because he was struggling to breathe.

Deebo Samuel is in a hospital dealing with pneumonia, meaning the the San Francisco 49ers have health concerns with their top two wide receivers.

Before kickoff against the Chiefs, the team announced that Deebo Samuel was dealing with an illness, but that he'd start against the Chiefs on Oct. 20. Samuel, who signed a three-year extension worth $71.55 million in 2022, managed to play just a few snaps before exiting the game.
