A man died after being struck by a vehicle in San Francisco’s Cole Valley/Parnassus Heights neighborhood Tuesday morning, police said.

A pedestrian was killed Tuesday near the campus of UCSF, police said. The man was struck about 8:45 a.m. near Parnassus Avenue and Stanyan Street, police said. Paramedics tried to save him, but he was declared dead on scene.

A dump truck hit and killed a pedestrian in a San Francisco neighborhood Tuesday morning. Officers responded at 8:44 a.m. to the intersection of Stanyan Street and Parnassus Avenue, near the UCSF Parnassus campus, and found the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately available.
