Going against what we saw from some leakers, the Switch 2's Joy-Cons don't seem to feature curved backs like a lot of today's handheld PCs. At least their longer build will make it easier for folks with larger hands to grip them.

Well, the rumours were right. Nintendo has revealed an early glimpse at its next console, Switch 2. The original Nintendo Switch, which launched back in 2017, has gone on to sell 146 million units worldwide — making it the third best-selling console of all time.

We may have gotten our first look at the new Joy-Con controller design for Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of an official reveal.

Leaked photos of the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con have some convinced that the new controller will double as a mouse.

Perhaps more importantly, the video shows the Joy-Con clicking onto a separate piece before going into mouse mode. This other piece looks like it has some small pads on the bottom, like a computer mouse would, to make it a little easier to slide around.

Nintendo revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 overnight and whilst details were fairly light, it does look to have confirmed one rumour to be true. It looks as though the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers can magnetically snap into a little holder (similar to the first Switch) and then be used like a mouse.

Thursday's teaser trailer for the Switch 2 made it abundantly clear that the upcoming console will be quite a bit larger than the original Switch that came before it. But Nintendo is still being coy about the specific dimensions of the Switch 2's expanded tablet and Joy-Cons.
