While air quality in Anand Vihar slipped into the "severe" category, the AQI remained "very poor" in areas like Bawana, Dwarka, Jahangirpuri, Rohini, DTU, IGI Airport (T3), ITO, Mundka, Narela, Patparganj, Rohini, Shadipur, Sonia Vihar, Wazirpur, Alipur, Ashok Vihar, Aya Nagar, Burari, Mandir Marg and Mundka.

As the air quality index of national capital Delhi fell to ’very poor’ last week with several monitoring stations approaching the 300 mark, the the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Monday ordered to implement GRAP-II in Delhi-NCR.

During the winter months, Delhi experiences severe pollution, driven by a combination of factors, such as low wind speeds, dropping temperatures, high moisture levels and the presence of pollution particles that act as surfaces for condensation.

Delhi's air quality is expected to deteriorate further, with the AQI likely to exceed 400 and fall into the 'severe' category on Tuesday and Wednesday, due to stubble burning in neighbouring states and unfavourable wind conditions.
