CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (WKRC) - The funeral for Officer Andrew Lansing, who was killed on Christmas Day, was scheduled for this Friday. The service will be held at 1 p.m. in the Chillicothe High School gym. Officer Lansing was attacked and killed by an inmate on Christmas morning while in his guard shack at the Ross Correctional Institution.

Ross Correctional Institution Officer Andrew Lansing was known as a great guy to his family and a fair and firm guard to inmates, his brother said.

As previously reported by News Center 7, Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) officer Andrew Lansing died following an “inmate assault” at the high-security prison in Ross County on Christmas morning. Visitation and funeral will be at Chillicothe High School’s Hatton Memorial Gymnasium, according to his online obituary.
