In front of hundreds of clergy, city leaders and Catholic faithful, Jeffrey Grob opened a new era in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on Tuesday with a highly choreographed ceremony, ascendant choral music and mementoes dating back as far as 1875. He also brought a dose of Wisconsin humor and wisdom.

In his four years as auxiliary bishop, he was the vicar – or leader – of churches in Lake County and portions of northern Cook County.
