Elon Musk’s latest effort to get swing state voters to the polls is raising legal questions after he announced this weekend that he plans to give $1 million once a day to a random registered Pennsylvania voter who signs the petition for his political action committee (PAC).

John Hardin Young, an adjunct professor of election law at William and Mary School of Law, argues that Musk is “vote buying” in a targeted manner. He says Musk is supporting Trump under the guise of “supporting these petitions for First and Second amendment rights and registering to vote.”

At least one election law expert is already questioning the legality of Musk’s million-dollar giveaway for supporters of his PAC’s petition.
