According to Fort Worth PD, a man's body was recovered from the river near Watercourse Drive. FORT WORTH, Texas — A man's body was recovered from the Trinity River, according to the Fort Worth Police Department. FWPD said in a statement that officers responded to a call of a man that was found in the Trinity River around 6:53 p.m. on Wednesday.

The massive backlog includes more than 900 unprocessed rape kits. A breakdown was blamed on a shortage of specialized staff who process DNA in the police department’s crime lab.

Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes vowed Tuesday afternoon to right the wrongs created by his department that led to a backlog of untested sexual assault evidence kits.
