A five-alarm fire broke out early Friday morning in the Bronx, leaving seven people hurt and more than 200 others displaced.Firefighters responded around 1:45 a.m. to a six-story apartment building at 2910 Wallace Avenue in the Allerton section of the borough.

Multiple people were injured and hundreds displaced after a fire tore through an apartment building in the Bronx, N.Y., early Friday morning, Jan. 10. In a statement shared by New York Fire Department chief John Esposito, the department reported “seven minor injuries, five to firefighters and two to civilians” from the fire on Wallace Avenue.

More than 250 people in the Bronx are dealing with the physical, financial and emotional aftermath of a devastating fire. Everyone got out alive, but the six-story building on Wallace was heavily damaged and some people lost everything.
