SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Kirby Dach scored twice and the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Utah Hockey Club 5-3 on Tuesday night. Mike Matheson, Patrik Laine and Cole Caufield also scored for Montreal, which has won eight of its last 10.
After Utah's first matchup against the Rangers delivered a high scoring and dramatic game, more of the same happened the second time around. Both teams went back and forth all night, but the Rangers secured the 4-3 win after it got its first lead of the game in the third.
From Utah Hockey Club fans’ perspective, there was a lot to celebrate and a lot to question in their 5-3 loss to the New York Rangers on Thursday. The frustrations that have plagued them for some time returned again, dropping them to a 1-4-0 record in their current home stand.
