Linus Karlsson scored his first NHL goal (and first game-winner) as the Vancouver Canucks won their third straight, beating the Nashville Predators 3-1 at Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday night.

The third period started with a long sequence in the Canucks’ end that featured Filip Hronek getting a stick to the ribs (uncalled), then Derek Forbort getting high-sticked (uncalled) and Pius Suter taking a penalty. The Preds’ power play is a good one, but the Canucks managed to keep them at bay. Thank GOD Noah Juulsen was in the lineup.

Throughout his career with Vancouver, Karlsson has found plenty of success in the AHL. He has 59 goals and 127 points in 149 games and holds the Abbotsford Canucks all-time record for career points. So far this season, Karlsson has 18 points in 17 games, which ranks tied for fifth on the team.
