Borussia Dortmund has sacked Nuri Şahin, as reported by Patrick Berger. The decision comes following four straight defeats to kick start 2025, most recently a 2-1 defeat in the Champions League to Italian side Bologna.

Nuri Şahin’s record as manager was atrocious. His BVB team picked up an average of 1.48, which is, according to Stefan Bienkowski, the worst record for a Dortmund coach in 17 years. While the issues at the club are certainly not all down to the manager, it is clear that Şahin was a big problem.
