TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled goaltender Matt Tomkins from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round of the 2012 NHL Draft, Tomkins has made six career NHL appearances (all with the Lightning), going 3-2-1 while posting a 3.33 GAA and a .892 SP.

The Lightning may be without their regular netminders tonight against the Kings. Andrei Vasilevskiy remains a game-time decision due to illness after his absence against the Blackhawks on Tuesday forced them to sign Kyle Konin to an amateur tryout as an emergency backup,
