Rodrygo has added to his scoring streak with Real Madrid but the Spanish powerhouse didn't get all the goals it needed to finish high enough in the league phase of the Champions League and avoid a possible encounter with Manchester City in the playoffs.

Rodrygo scored twice and Jude Bellingham once as title holders Real Madrid eased to a 3-0 victory against Brest in France in the Champions League on Wednesday, but the result was not enough for the Spanish giants to advance straight to the last 16.

Real Madrid managed a 3-0 win against Brest in their UEFA Champions League game on January 29. Rodrygo found the back of the net in each half (27', 78') and Jude Bellingham was the other scorer (56').

Thibaut Courtois said Real Madrid "aren't afraid of anyone" as they await Friday's Champions League playoff draw, which will see them face Manchester City or Celtic for a place in the round of 16.
