That’s according to Daniel Camilo, a China-based publisher and gaming consultant, who noted that his sources claim that Phantom Blade Zero netted extra investment due to Wukong’s success, while nothing that S-Game’s project was already in an advanced state of development at the time of Black Myth’s launch.

Referring to discussions with two sources, Camilo added: "The tremendous success of Wukong in China in particular signaled to many investors that AAA gaming is the new golden egg."
