The Jimmy Butler trade saga is starting to heat up as the Feb. 6 trade deadline draws near. The veteran forward was recently handed an indefinite suspension by the Miami Heat, which could ease the way to him being traded in the coming days.

The Bulls haven't made a trade deadline deal since 2021 when they sent Wendell Carter Jr. and two first-round picks in exchange for Nikola Vucevic. Chief executive Arturas Karnisovas can't afford to continue that inactivity for a third time.

Zach LaVine continues to be a person of interest with the trade deadline inching closer and closer. The Chicago Bulls currently have a 20-27 record, and logically, LaVine is a candidate to be traded away with the future of the team in mind.
