First and final thoughts … So Rams linebacker Jared Verse spoke to the Los Angeles Times the other day about his distaste for Eagles fans. Actually, distaste is too soft a word to describe Verse’s sentiments.

Jared Verse is an outspoken player despite only being a rookie. Whether he’s talking trash to opponents on the field, to teammates in practice or to fans before a playoff game, he’s always going to bring the energy and say how he feels.

Jared Verse commented, and the Berwick, Pennsylvania native isn't running from Eagles fans, choosing to embrace the moments. Verse explained his hatred for Eagles fans to the LA Times earlier in the week.

Whatever he was doing, he had this to say leading up to Sunday’s matchup: “I hate Eagles fans. They’re so annoying … When I see that green and white I hate it. I actually get upset. Like I actually genuinely get hot.”

Jared Verse notched two sacks on Sunday, but the Rams standout was booed not for his play but his words after ripping Eagles fans.

In response, Eagles fans have embraced Verse's words as motivation heading into Sunday's game. Before the game, a billboard flashed Verse's quote in Philadelphia. During the game, the stadium riled the crowd up by posting Verse's thoughts of Eagles fans on the big board.

After having multiple 70+ yard touchdown scores in the first meeting, Barkley exploded for a 62-yard touchdown to put Philadelphia up 12-7 and had fun with Verse at the end of the run. Barkley has four carries for 71 yards (17.8 avg) and one touchdown; overall, the Eagles have 115 yards rushing early in the second quarter.

Speaking of Hurts, this was “Bad Jalen” (passing-wise) as opposed to the “Good Jalen” the Eagles saw against the Pittsburgh Steelers last month, when he threw for 290 yards among seven receivers. Sunday was the Jalen that holds the ball too long.

Before the Los Angeles Rams took on the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round of the playoffs, the rookie defensive end got a lot of hate from Eagles fans. And he was fully embracing it. Earlier this week, Verse said, "I hate Eagles fans. They're so annoying. I hate Eagles fans."
