Dolphins set to release Shaq Barrett, who retired before the season but wants to continue playing elsewhere in 2024

Barrett, 32, began his career with the Denver Broncos, tallying 14 sacks in four seasons with the team. He eclipsed that total with a league-leading 19.5 sacks in his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In five seasons with Tampa Bay, he recorded 45 sacks.

The Miami Dolphins have chosen to waive Shaq Barrett, as the former star linebacker can now play again in 2024 after retiring in the offseason.
