In the hours after Ohio Governor Mike DeWine officially announced Lt. Governor Jon Husted would serve the remainder of Vice-President elect JD Vance's US Senate term, Husted agreed to sit down for a virtual interview with WCPO Senior Reporter Sean DeLancey about what the future looks like for him,

J.D. Vance had four years left on his Senate term before he resigned from his seat. Jon Husted is expected to take his place.

Gov. Mike DeWine has selected his own Lt. Gov. Jon Husted to become the next senator from Ohio, passing over entrepreneur and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Two sources, granted anonymity to speak freely about the appointment, confirmed that DeWine will pick Husted.

Vivek Ramaswamy, who was also seen as a possible replacement for the vice president-elect, is widely expected to run for governor of Ohio instead.
