The arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 heralds some much-needed improvements over its predecessor, especially its Joy-Con controllers. Here’s a quick breakdown of what the announcement trailer showed us about the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons.

Going against what we saw from some leakers, the Switch 2's Joy-Cons don't seem to feature curved backs like a lot of today's handheld PCs. At least their longer build will make it easier for folks with larger hands to grip them.

Nintendo has confirmed a new ‘C’ button on Switch 2 and appeared to tease mouse controls, but full details on both remain unclear. During its official Switch 2 reveal video, which showed the Switch ‘s successor for the first time, Nintendo showed numerous shots of the full console.

Well, the rumours were right. Nintendo has revealed an early glimpse at its next console, Switch 2. The original Nintendo Switch, which launched back in 2017, has gone on to sell 146 million units worldwide — making it the third best-selling console of all time.

The latest images allegedly showing the Switch 2 Joy-Con appeared on the Chinese forum Baidu Tieba and were subsequently re-shared across Reddit. The photos show a black case with with a neon blue connector extruding from the side.

Perhaps more importantly, the video shows the Joy-Con clicking onto a separate piece before going into mouse mode. This other piece looks like it has some small pads on the bottom, like a computer mouse would, to make it a little easier to slide around.
