"We suspect there will be another attempt for a tropical depression or tropical storm to brew in the western Caribbean during the middle to the latter part of next week," said Bernie Rayno, AccuWeather chief on-air meteorologist. The next named storms of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season will be Patty and Rafael.

Hurricane Oscar formed in the Caribbean on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Miami-South Florida. NWS said Oscar is expected to move toward the Turks and Caicos Islands, southeastern Bahamas and northeastern Cuba before it turns northeast.

Hurricane Oscar made landfall early Sunday morning on Great Inagua Island in the Bahamas and over Cuba hours later, according to the National Hurricane Center.

FOX 13 meteorologist Valerie Mills reports that while Hurricane Oscar has become a Category 1 hurricane it is no threat to Florida, or the United States.
