Napoli icon, Igor Protti, has backed Antonio Conte's decision to replace Victor Osimhen with Romelu Lukaku, highlighting one of the Belgian striker's strengths.

Antonio Conte has effectively confirmed the reports in the summer were true, so Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen both wanted to leave, but Napoli delayed the moves and could miss out on a lot of money.

Kvaratskhelia is still on the same contract that he signed when he first joined Napoli as a relative unknown back in 2022. That was a five-year deal that is set to expire in the summer of 2027. For well over a year now, Napoli have been in talks with Kvaratskhelia and his representatives over a renewal, but that extension never came.
