The vice president for Windstar Lines, Pat Greteman, confirmed Monday's bus crash involved Iowa State marching band members. The band was on their way home to Iowa after a bowl game in Florida.
The President of Windstar Lines told TV9 a privately owned school bus pulled out in front of the motorcoach carrying the band members. The privately owned school bus then left the scene.
At around 7 p.m. Monday, a Windstar Lines motorcoach that was carrying the band members was in a crash with a privately owned school bus near Chattanooga, Tennessee, KCRG reported Tuesday afternoon.
The Windstar Lines bus was not driveable after the accident but the students were able to fit on other buses in the Cyclone convoy to return to Ames.
